Predictions

Here are my 2010 picks...

Antelope Crusaders ~ I clearly have the best team.

Tools ~ Seriously, we need to kick this guy out of the league and get Scott Toich to take over this team. I say we vote on it immediately!

5 Cent Head ~ I'm losing to this guy? Nope, not any more! The entire "I will draft great pitchers" strategy is completely stupid once you realize that pitching is only 25% of this game.

Dittoheads ~ Nick seems to do pretty well "luck" wise when he does the stats. So, I'm guessing he claims Daniel Cabrera in May and gets 15 wins out of him (even though Cabrera goes 0-1 with 14.24era)

Armadillos ~ The new guy does pretty good for himself. And by "pretty good" I mean he misses the money while failing to rebuild for 2011. But, 2012 should be "pretty good."

Gang Green ~ John spent $82 on D Wright and J Reyes... figuring if it works for the mighty Mets, it has to work for him.

Wheats N Raisins ~ Chris filled out his roster with average to a little above average players... and they'll go out and earn him an average finish.

Lynnwood Legacy ~ Aaron's problems started when he showed up to the draft. He does so-so much better when he doesn't. $26 on Health Bell and $35 on Adam Dunn... both of whom will end up with the Yankees or Red Sox.

Damaged Liver ~ Quite the pitching staff, at least at the top (Halladay, Haren, Zambrano). But to round it off with J Suppan, S Olsen and a weak bullpen? Think the beers started to add up for Damaged Liver on draft day.

Smokin Paychecks ~ Very clever to Jason Giambi, and I believe only the Kevin/Allen combo is capable of thinking that far outside of the box.

SuperNeek ~ Terris probably could do better... but he's working on his 2014 season strategy.

Philadelphia
*Atlanta
Florida
Mets
Washington
~ The Phillies bullpen is iffy, especially their closer... but they are far-far too strong elsewhere for that to matter. The real race will be between the Marlins and the Braves, with Atlanta's depth at SP giving them a very slight edge. The Braves will also be willing to make a 'win now' move, whereas Florida is likely to be cost conscious. Washington is an improved team and they will push the Mets hard for 4th place.

St Louis
Chicago
Milwaukee
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
Houston
~ The Cardinals cruise to a division title with great ease. They have some issues at the back of the rotation and questions in the infield, but Pujols-Holliday make those problems irrelevant. The Cubs will hang around for a bit and remain in the wildcard race but an extremely weak bullpen and break downs from older stars (Soriano, Ramirez, Lee) do them in. Milwaukee has massive issues in their rotation, but remains a competitive team. Cincinnati has some fine up and coming players, but perhaps the worst manager in the league to handle them. Pittsburgh is improved and will push for 4th. Houston is the worst team in the league and they lose 100 games.

Los Angeles
San Francisco
Colorado
Arizona
San Diego
~ Easily the most competitive division with 4 team having a legitimate chance at the title. It will be a 4 team race going into September... with the Giants and Dodgers battling it out into the final weekend. LA wins thanks to a better offense. Either-Kemp-Ramirez is a powerful punch.

MVP ~ A Pujols
CY ~ R Halladay
RoY ~ J Heyward

Yankees
*Boston
White Sox
Seattle

WS ~ Phillies over Yankees

  1. well, your Rotis picks are interesting. My team in 4th? Yikes! I have no reserve players so I'd better stay healthy and everyone better keep their job.

A for your MLB picks. There is no way the Dodger win the West this year. The Giants have the pitching and the hitting this time around. The Dodgers have mediocre at best pitching and outside of a decent 1, 3-4-5 - their hitting is terrible.

  2. Also just re-read and saw you picked Seattle. They will lose 90 games this year. Outside of two top notch starters, their pitching is terrible...and one of those starters is already hurt. Their defense is mediocre at best and they can't hit a lick. They have Bradley and Griffey in the 4 and 5 slots...that is terrible. The will be 10 games out by the break and will be looking to deal Lee away.
